The Eagles lost to the Colts tonight, that should not be a surprise to anyone. I honestly did not watch the whole game, but I don’t remember seeing the defense blitz AT ALL ! No surprise for Andy Reid and the Eagles preseason. Here are a few Quick Hits from tonight’s contest:

Linebackers

Joe Mays had a tough game, too many missed tackles, too many times standing over the tackle looking down, not in the play. I thought Tracey White played well tonight and made some nice plays.

3rd Down Conversions

I know it is only preseason, but WAY too many 3 and outs, or failed 3rd down plays.

Run Game/Run Blocking

I know it was all 2nd team guys but there got to be a better effort out of those guys. No holes and too much pressure up front tonight. McCoy looked sharp on a few runs, sorry to see Leonard Weaver go down, hope he is OK !

Receivers

Nice catches tonight by Jackson, Reggie Brown had a nice one (but a stupid special teams peanalty) and Hank Baskett took a big hit like it was nothing in the first half. Maclin looked rather lackluster tonight.

QB’s

McNabb was pretty crisp during his short time on the field, nice numbers, although I was bothered by one of his quick passes into coverage that was incomplete. Still forcing plays that really aren’t there. AJ Feeley looked great, a little shaky before the end of the 1st half but he was playing with 2nd teamers.

D-Line

A little presure guys ? Maybe ? They need some work, I saw nothing.

Bright Spot

I thought the bright spot from the game was the man with no name on his jersey during camp, who I was hoping would step up because they need him to: Rob Meyers at TE. Had nice numbers, key plays, runs and catches well, this guy could be a diamond in the rough.

Colts look good, I could see them deep in the playoffs in the AFC. Peyton Manning looked great, Addai ran the ball well, O-line looked great, defense gave the Eagles some problems.

Gonna take DeSean’s advise and be quiet about this game !
